Where we will find the fish

  • The Ammonoosuc River

The Ammonoosuc river is a classic freestone stream meandering from its source on the presidential range through the hills and valleys of the region. There are numbers of pools and riffles holding brook, rainbow, and brown trout. For those willing to hike the small tributaries the reward will be the chance to catch native brook trout that have called these waters home for a millennia.

  • The Gale River

The Gale is the destination for those willing to jump on a bike and ride into the forest. Accessed by either the advanced trails from the summit of Mount Agassiz or by the more beginner friendly trails along route 3, this stretch of river is quiet and ready to explore.

  • Profile Lake

Accessible off the side of I-93 this pond is the head waters of the Pemigewasset River. Stocked with brook trout, it is best enjoyed in a canoe. Sit int he bow and cast a line or enjoy a mellow troll as you take in the views of Mounts Lafayette and the Cannon Cliffs.

  • Lonesome Lake

Lace up your hiking boots and enjoy the short but steep hike to this secluded lake. Spend the day in the bow of the pack raft casting to brook trout while enjoying panoramic views of Lafayette and Cannon mountains.
